SPUR HTC (High Contrast Technical) is a high contrast developer for b/w-papers and b/w-films. HTC is used for technical applications if a very high contrast is desired. This developer is optimized for high sensitivity and highest max. density.
SPUR HCT is an interesting developer for low contrast films like Foma Retropan and Ilford Delta 3200.
Most films can be developed at normal contrast and sensitivity if a high dilution of HTC is used.
As a paper developer HCT is interesting if very large prints are made. In those cases it often is difficult to get strong enough contrast. A high contrast developer like HTC might be the solution.
If HCT is used as a paper developer with a dilution of 1+7 to 1+10, the contrast will be one to two grades harder compared to a normal paper developer. Normal contrast can be achieved at a dilution of 1+14 or 1+15.
