SPUR Cool Black is paper developer with neutral to cool tone. The contrast of the print can not just be controlled with filter settings, but also with the dilution of Cool Black.
The dilution range is from 1+9 to 1+19. The higher the dilution, the better the tonality. The shadows to not become gray, like with conventional developers at high dilution, but stay black. This feature is especially useful if fixed grade papers are used. Cool Black delivers dark blacks and detailed highlights even at high dilution.
You can use Cool Black also for multiple tray development. The paper is developed in trays with different dilutions of Cool Black. This can give unique results.
The recommended standard dilution is 1+11. Too short developing times should be avoided to guarantee a fully developed print. Minimum developing time should be 90 seconds.
